Their sacrifice won't be in vain!

This drawing was based on a "what if" concept I came up with a few weeks ago, which consists on Twilight traveling through time (yeah I know, the idea is kind of common but meh! XD) and it's a little twisted. I didn't came up with this concept for ponies but for humans (because I don't like drawing injured ponies! Precious babies!). Though I couldn't help but draw pony Twilight because of the page's background color.

I'll leave a short summary here for the curious ones:

The story takes place not long after Twilight Sparkle's coronation. She decided to read Star Swirl's book of spells a second time and much for her surprise she found a secretly folded page which contained a time traveling spell. By force of habit she reads it out loud and a portal appears out of nowhere, sucking her in.
Twilight confused, finds herself in her home at Ponyville, only to realize it's not the same.
She finds Pinkie Pie there, and she looks very different. She seems older and most of her body is covered in scars.
Pinkie Pie, shocked to see Twilight, says that she's been gone for 15 years and that during her absence Equestria fell under the Changelings' control.
And as Pinkie explains further Twilight gets to know that all of her friends went separated ways, but Twilight is determined to bring them all together like she did several times before and bring Equestria back to its former glory.

This particular scene I drew is much farther in the story, at the moment of the final battle against the Changelings right after Twilight's friends falling one by one.


Done in 10 hours with color pencils over a A4 pink cardboard.
